Then I tackled an ugly Italian Stone Pine that just went back into a plastic training pot. Also repotted a handful of little crab apples, at least thats what I THINK they are. They're something that grows wild around here, one came from a field a few years ago and its turning into an interesting little clump. The others started out as saplings I dug at the art center a few years back, they've got some potential. I also repotted a bunch of little Japanese maples and a little cherry, some of them went into seconds, others back into plastic, but they're all just about to pop. The two tridents I just did a quick clean up repot, scraped the top inch and the bottom inch off and added new soil to the top n bottom. Those are both in plastic cans, so the major part of the roots were undisturbed. THEY (stinking things!) are already leafed out!
NEXT up, a bunch more! I really need to cut back... I've still got some pines and junipers I need to work on, then some redwoods. I'll put off the giant redwood til later this spring, maybe this summer, as it has an airlayer on it that needs to be cut off. Its FINALLY starting to grow some roots, YYAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY
